2014 Irish Open Predictions - Weekend Update

The weekday rounds of the 2014 Irish Open are now finished, and the leader going into the weekend is Finland golfer Mikko Ilonen who is at 10-under (-10) and has a two-shot lead over Englishman Robert Rock, Northern Irishman Graeme McDowell, and Frenchman Romain Wattel, who are all at 8-under.

Incidentally, Ilonen, who is playing in his 300th European Tour event, shot a 7-under 64 (which is a course record at Fota Island) on Thursday to put him above his fellow players.

By the looks of it, Fota Island is looking promising for even lower scores come this week, given that 10-under is the score going into the weekend. We'll have to wait and see just how low they will be come Sunday evening.

As for our picks, here is how they stand:

1) Graeme McDowell: T2 at 8-under (-8)
2) Robert Rock: T2 at 8-under (-8)
3) Marcel Siem: T34 at 2-under (-2)

Pretty good! Graeme McDowell and Robert Rock are both doing really well and hopefully one of them will win it.

Stay tuned Sunday evening for the results of the Irish Open,

-Nick
